Lol as long as you give me it back once you have finished. My connection is a speed demon, should not take me too long to download it. The only problem is avsim has that capped download speeds for free account members. |

Oh right, I completely forgot about that capped bussiness - I've been capped all these years
I guess I can't complain too much then... just keep on sitting through the nights and hit the reconnect button every time my ISP cuts me off. |

Nice find Tailhook! I'll add that to my bookmarks.
One problem though, it will probably blow the rest of my broadband bandwidth for the rest of the month. |

Hey Jarred I've been searching for a solution to that problem for a long time and this is my idea:
All internet-access should be free, paid for by the government!!
What d'ya think? |

Brilliant idea Tailhook! How cool would that be - and this wont be any old connection, how about 2 mb/s with 10 gb of bandwidth! |

The company my house phone line runs off is called Onetel. We pay a flat rate of £29.99 a month. This gives us 3Meg Broadband and there is no bandwidth/download limit on it. Due to it being a package all our calls are free. So we can phone as much as we need to, use the internet as much as we like yet it will never go over £29.99 |

Thanks for that info. I actually have a similar deal in my sight, as in your case having a download limit would drive me nuts - the costs and conditions would be very similar to yours except I'll have to lock myself into a 12 or 24 months contract. I've already given in to that thought however at the moment it's a double-edged sword.
My computer is the most recalcitrant beast I've ever encountered and I'm not discounting the possibility that it could commit suicide one day just to spite me, or worse, I just might lose control one day and kick it to death!!
Either scenario would leave me without a computer for possibly several months and I'm just too stingy to pay for an internet connection when I'm unable to utilise it. Phew... so that's of my chest... and would you believe it? This stupid box that disguises itself as a computer just sits there right opposite me, pretending everything is just fine |

Nice find Tailhook!
It should go nicely with the all new STRM for the Himalayas that has just been released over on simviation http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery77.htm
Highly detailed mesh based on Shuttle Radar (SRTM) data but with many of the void areas filled with elevation models generated from topographic maps by Jonathan de Ferranti. The "Himalayan Peaks" series contains LOD10 terrain mesh of prominent peaks and ridges. There will also be a LOD9 "base mesh" series of the Himalayas. Compiled for FS by Holger Sandmann. Fully compatible with FS2002. 53MB

The nearest from what I can see would be VNLK. Problem is, from here you have to fly an a/c suitable for the task (STOL) and have a pilot who knows his way around the mountains.
VNTR might be a better option, longer Rwy and you get a chance to gain altitude without having to circle endlessly until your head gets into a spin.
VNVT is the furthest away but has the longest Rwy and you basically just head north, a little to the left perhaps.
You can get to Mt. Everest quick and relatively easy from Kathmandu Intl. in a jet but you'll have to use an atlas or some kind of map to find your way - I can't see the peaks being marked or named on the FS map. |
