Lately my laptop has been unable to hold the time and date and if its been off for more than an hour I have to re-enter it, annoying Wall Bashing

I've searched google, and it appears I need a bios update. I can't find however, where or how I can get this.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks Wink

Are you sure its not a battery Question
I know nothing about laptops Embarassed but on desktop PCs,if the small mobo battery starts to fail the 1st sign is the time/date starting to wander

You replace Lap top's battery (if i judge from the price) or the Mobo's one?

For your BIOS upgrade ave a look here Arrow

But hold on before you step on this... Wink

Not me my friend...TTT was the one. Bow Down Thumbs Up!
Try to change MOBO's battery but if you are not familiar with this find a local Computers store and ask their help.

The mobo battery is a bit like a watch battery, only a bit bigger. All it powers is the mobos memory. It should cost no more than about £5.00

Flashing the bios is not without its risks, you could kill the PC/laptop if it is not the correct flash tool or if it fails to load correctly.
Please check if the mobo has a battery 1st Wink

Good link GM
From the very bottom of the page about flashing the Bios

Be sure of the motherboard manufacturer and model to download the correct file, as if you do the wrong upgrade, there is the risk of not being able to turn your PC on anymore
