Hey, if you're a ATP pilot, and you happen to read this, maybe you can answer my questions.
1. I am hoping to become a ATP Pilot as a career...But i dunno how to begin, what should I do, and what type of college/degrees should i look for?
2. Is it true that you HAVE TO have air force time in order to be a ATP Pilot?
3. How long does it take before you get a left seat position in a jet...usually? |

1. No degree imparticular -- (as long as you have one) If not going the military route you need to start racking up the hours at your local FBO. This is expensive at first, however, once you get your IFR you can find ways to easily reduce expense.
2. No. (though some airlines are pro-military over others)
3. All depends on hours you have put in. So to tell you 5 years might not be accurate. What type of jet |

Check out Ebry Riddle--- I think that's how you spell it, or better yet, go to your local airport. All airline pilots began their careers in little single engine puddle jumpers. I wish you the best of luck. P.S. take damn good care of your health, it will be very important to you. Take it from a real pilot. |
