ok one last ILS question

Ok with the ILS I have programed the frequency into my nav 1 and thats good to go but when I am in the cockpit withough the radio stack there is a set of numbers that says course above it. what is that for? thanks brian

Those numbers are the course selection of your nav needle, No. 1 nav. For an ILS it has no function but set it to the inbound course of the ILS so that the Left-right course deviation needle (CDI) indications on the HSI will make sense for course correction. If using a VOR indicator, setting the inbound course serves as a reminder of the ILS inbound course but also has no functional effect. Smile
