I'm considering purchasing 2x GeForce 7800. I been googling for the graphic card made soley by nvidia but nothing seems to come up. I keep getting results to a company called BFG i believe.
if Nvidia make the graphics card, then why has it got BFG Company on it?
(possible answear to the above) Do BFG buy the card and stick their name on it? what effect will it have on the card? will it come with different softwear?
please help me
cheers

Partners can make some changes to a card. Some people say for the better but that difficult to nail down.
Here is a list of their partners that make and sell the cards.
You may be able to buy one in the US if the company ships internationally.
The UK is at the bottom, of the list.

cheers radarman, So basicly a company like BFG buys a card, slightly modifys it and slaps a company logo sticker onit? then sells it for megga bucks ?
So at the end of the day, they still have the same proformance? Juts slightly modified softwear and a sticker slapped onto the card?
Cheers mate! |

Right, sometimes cheaper but buy a major brand not an off brand.

Don't forget, the card you buy today won't support DirectX 10 that's coming with Vista and will be part of FSX.

 They didn't consult me.
It may be a hardware issue, I don't know. That's one of the reasons that I've been holding off on a new machine.

**^^me above^^**
Just thought, I have my ATI Readon X800 Pro graphics card and i wont be able to play FSX coz it wont support directX 10?
So that means people would have to go out to buy new computers or graphics card that supports directX 10?
I'm sure you could play fsx with directx 9 but not get the full detail that it offers?
hmmm, will be intrested when it comes out |

You can use any card for FSX with Windows Vista but if it doesn't support DirectX 10 (which is part of Vista) then you won't get the "full value" of the graphics.
MS or any company isn't ever going to rule out older systems (hardware), it's just that they "reward" you if you run the latest hardware with the latest OS.
I could run it on my old machine with old hardware with XP and it would look fine but of you want to see it as it was intended to be seen you get the latest.
If they didn't do that everyone would still be running Windows 3.1 on a 386. It's called step up to the future and hand over your $ while your at it.
