Okay, my first shots for fsX. Not bad for default, imo. No autogen,
frame rate set to only 15. Smooth enough, not jumpy at all.
Default mesh is much improved and, as always, the higher the better.

I notice in your first shot there are both 3D and 2D clouds. Am I going blind? |

Most likely
You're right, FE for fs9 makes better clouds than the default fsX, no doubt about it. Lot of potential for the
default ground textures, though, imo. |

The river textures have improved, too. Why is no one flying the Goose when taking pics... heavy on frames? |

Thanks, trying my best. Seems better when I'm actually playing it than when I try to transcribe it into screenies, but I mark a definate improvement, imho. Trust me, the better the system, the better this game is going to roll - and we still are on dx9 and XP! Can't wait
for the mods and another gig of ram, etc, etc......

Im picking up a new decent spec system in the next couple of days just in time for the release so hopefully I should be able to get the most out of FSX.
Does anybody have any recommendations for specs from their experience, not MS guidelines ? |

I'll wait for Vista thank you very much.
Nice to see the standard terrain is about the quality of my payware mesh though. |

Since photobucket is running very slow for me at the moment, I can tell you that the sea no longer comes near the runway at one point, the hill is better than the FS9 default, the beach area looks like sand, and LGRD looks pretty good. These were not, however part of the "detailed" airports created by MS. CrashGordon

I didn't expect to be...They are small airports far from US...
Thanks for the feedback Crash |

The way I am looking at it, I am testing where the bottom really is. If I were to bump RASM up to 1 GB and/or add a cheap 256MB PCI GFX card to replace the onboard chip, I suspect trhe results would be a lot better.
Since Vista will be out shortly after Jan. 1st, spending money on this machine doesn't sound lake a good idea. CrashGordon

Thanks Faucett and CrashGordon for the Goose screenies - turning out quite nicely.

Not sure whether this is actually a serious query on your behalf. I find it interesting because years ago it was not uncommon to read in IT related articles that the plural of Mouse (the one for computers) was not Mice but Mouses instead.
These days everybody seems to use Mice though.
Still, where the Grumman Goose is concerned, I'd like to see the plural being Gooses. |

It was maybe half serious. It is the trouble one runs into when one names something after a word that has a non-standard plural. Now, if it was the Grumman Moose, there would be no problem. CrashGordon

Haha, the question arises 'Would it/they be able to fly?' |
