Ok my lovely people! Its been a few months now since i have been flying. I completed a round Europe tour flying from London City, to Ostend, to Luxembourg, to Germany (Berlin) up to Sweden and finally touching back down in Sunny (NOT!) old Manchester (England). Was absolutely brilliant. did it on FS09 and wud defo think of doin it in FSX seein as i now have it and graphics and scenery are amazing. Anyway, the tour was completed over about 6 days in a King Air. i truely enjoyed it.

Now....im looking to take on a Heavy, i feel confident, im a fast learner and im not stupid. I know Heavies are a whole new ball game compared to my Prop planes. I tried a couple of Heavy flights in FSX, the mission from Rome to somewhere.... i also tried a freeflight Airbus flight from London Gatwick to Manchester.

The aim of these trips was just to get me used to controls and things in these Heavies. i spent alot of time on the ground Taxi ing and checking out controls etc.. (P.S taxi ing in a big plane is far easier than in a silly little one!!!)

My question to u is this....is there any sort of webpage i can look up to find out how to fly these big planes properly. I managed to take of comfortably on both flights but found myself alot of the time "overspeed" and in the freeflight about 20mins into my flight, it stalled and crashed horribly, im pretty sure there were no survivors!!!

So please any help wud be grand...FSX is wierd but im gettin used to it!

Jets are like the other aircraft, only much faster. Check your knee board for the proper flap and other speed settings.
Be sure you take along only as much fuel and passengers as you intend to. You do not want to try to land a jumbo jet filled with fuel. As in real life when forced to land shortly after take off, the pilot needs to dump fuel first.
Watch your speed, on landing use your auto speed brake, and reverse thrust, set your auto break to position#1. Use whatever you can to slow you down, landing gear is a great help. But watch your approaching stall speeds. Remember it takes a while for jet engines to spool up, so don't give away so much power that letting down wheels and flaps stalls you. You won't recover.

There,s a start.

go to the learning center and hit the lessons tab, there is quite a few lessons and more to the point "transitioning to jets". Smile
