Hey all,

In case you missed this link in the other posts, try these TWEAKS for FSX.

They had a dramatic effect on my modest Pentium 4 3.0Ghz, doubling frame rates and giving me a solid 26 FPS with FSX graphics settings at Medium High !

I hope these work for others too Very Happy

Thanks RM ...... bizarrely enough I started to look at and decide my spec when I saw a post of yours on here saying you were looking at the Core 2 Duo 6700 ..... I was going to go for that too but just managed to stretch to the 6800 !!

(... and then I really skinted myself on the Graphics Card!!).

Very Happy

Wondering if I should actually try out these tweaks for my PC. Are they safe? Should I actually bother with that? Running:

Intel Centrino Duo
2 GHz
1Gb RAM
ATI Radeon X1400 512 MB video card
80 GB Hard Drive

Reaching around 10-15 fps out of target of 20

How do I find and open up the FX.cfg file again? I tried to find it but with no success. Is it possible to have a step by step to find this file? I did a search with the file that we need to put into expoler but did not work.

Set your Folder options to "display hidden files", then you can access the FSX.CFG at :-

c:/documents and settings/**your computer name**/Application data/microsoft/FSX

You need to be reasonably aware on how to retrieve and move files to set these tweaks up folks.
