I like doing virtual tours in flight simulator.

This started back in 2003, when I journeyed around the USA in a Metroliner (Key West, Miami, Washington, NYC, Chiacgo, Salt Lake, LAX, Las Vegas, Houston, New Orleans, Key West)

Then in the following summer, I flew from London to Auckland in a 737. (London, Munich, Dubai, New Delhi, Sri Lanka, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bali, Dawin, Sydney, Auckland)

Next in 2005, I completed a 9000 mile trip around the edge of Australia. (Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Adeilaide, Perth, Darwin, Cairns) known as "OZ TOUR 2006"

More recently I have completed short tours, including 'VOZ TOUR 2" from Hobart to Canberra, and the "LONG WHITE CLOUD TOUR" from Kerikeri to Milford Sound.

This summer, I plan to fly another tour, From Okiwi Station to Coffs Harbour, right across the Tasman, stopping at Kaitia, Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island... but there is a twist. Instead of separating each leg out over a few days, I am going to do it all in one night... on multiplayer!

Flying my Feelthere Cessna Caravan, the flight is expected to take 9 and a half hours, cruising at 20,000 feet over the 1300 miles at a speed of roughly 140kias... at 1x speed the whole way, accompanied by real world weather. I am not sure whether or not to do it during a sunlight or realtime dark night yet though...

I know it is a long time, but I just want to attempt it to see if I am capable of being 'long haul' material maybe sometime in the future, and I would like it very much if some of you Flyaway members would join me online over this time.

It would help if you had the payware Feelthere Caravan installed, so we can all fly together in a loose formation at the same speed, but if not, you can simply fly the default fs2004 Carvan, and easily tweak the aircraft.cfg to make it appear the same plane is everyone else... more details on that, along with a flight plan and custom repaint later Razz

I am planning to do this flight sometime early December, once my NCEA exams are finished, and I am on summer holiday from college. We would begin at around 6pm, and finish between 3am and 4am the next morning (NZ TIME), with many doses of Red Bull handy to keep us awake along the way Wink If you would like to come with me, please visit my New Zealand Flightsim Forums at www.nzff.co.nr and make a post!

Cheers!
