Is there a sticky for add-ons?

I am relatively new to the sim world and am enjoying emensley. I have been snooping around to find directions on how to find add-on airplanes, scenery, etc and how to install them. I have run across several posts that are totally confusing. Is there a post or sticky about this add-on stuff that is layed out in a way that the average PC user can understand?

I am looking for instructions on how to install the downloads. I have dowloaded a few add-ons but can't figure out how to add airplanes into the hanger or install scenery upgrades. Isn't there somewhere in FSX or here at flyaway that has these installation instructions? Maybe you can't add airplanes into the place where one chooses the aircraft?

The aircraft folder is now in the simobjects folder.
