Entry doors on both sides sounds rediculous as well as structurally unsound. I always soloed the J-3 from the front seat. You can't reach the carb heat, etc. without unlatching your seat belt when you're in the back seat. It flies diffently from the front seat, without weight in the back, as compared to flying back seat dual, especially with a full fuel tank.

I to question the need for 2 entry doors and you aren't the first to question structural strength, apparently they put more tubeing in the cabin ceiling, and it is FAA certified. Legend has a really good website with pics of their construction.

I'd like someone to rework the FSX cub to this new model. Legend is web savy, I bet they'd be interested in getting their planes into MS FSX and would help.

I've flow PA-11s with 100 hp and more as well as PA-18s with 160 and 180 hp. I think the most hp J-3 I flew was 90. I'd have to look at my log books. I've seen several J-3s with 85 and 90 hp engines. On floats, they perform better than the 65 horse. Now the old J-2 with the cubby engine (origianally Taylor) was underpowered but fun to fly.

From http://www.legend.aero/ website:
The Continental O-200, four-cylinder engine is as legendary as the Cub itself. It delivers countless hours of reliable operation in a Legend Cub. With 100-horsepower to pull it through the air, Legend Cubs sound like the familiar Cub and performs more like a Super Cub. The Jabiru 3300A Aero Engine is a 6-cylinder workhorse that coupled with the Legend Cub delivers higher useful load, shorter takeoff distance, and faster climb.

Now what's heretical (at least to me) is an optional 100% glass cockpit in a J-3! I don't think this plane has duel controls, I'm gonna E-mail them and ask.

Charlie, ya outta look at their site, lota pics of their assembly floor.

Nice PIX at the site. Having learned to fly in a J-3 NC98454, It is a very special airplane to me. The second airplane I flew was the PA-12 Suoer Cruiser with an 0-200 and airscoop, giving it 108 hp. My Boss/Inzstructor flew power line patrol with it and took me along on occassion.
