go into the sim objects aircraft folder and look for a folder that says aircraft or something other then the name of the aircraft open it up and you should find the aircraft cut and paste it in the simobject aircraft folder and delete the folder you found it in.

Cheers hope that helps Very Happy

Hi Dennis,

you joined Flyaway Apr 24 and you never had this problem fx2004? I guess that should be FS2004?

This makes me think that you used to get your files for FS2004 from another library because to be able to download from the Flyaway library you have to be a member first, right?

I can't tell you what to do, but retracing my steps I would conclude that if files from one library give me trouble and files from another library don't, I might just do my shopping where I used to.

From a different perspective:

If you get into the habit of downloading from libraries which provide CLEAR descriptions of individual files and where the files are CLEARLY categorised, you'll reduce the risk of downloading incompatible or simply the wrong files.

It's quite possible that you downloaded textures only instead of an aircraft - happens all the time. Needless to say, if you install textures the way you would an aircraft, you won't see a new aircraft.

Now that you've read a condescending speech...let's get to the point. Downloading aircraft into FSX or FS9 is a problem for many people. Here is a guide written by a member and updated for FSX Arrow http://flyawaysimulation.com/forum/topic/1800/how-to-install-aircraft/#8119

thanks for the info?

I 'used' to have fx2004 and 'used' to get my planes from another library other than flyaway.

I got a plane from this flyaway library (and it 'was' a whole plane - not just textures) and it was put in the proper folder and not picked up

I will read this other set of instruction

Just be patient dennisonpatrol, the gentleman above will find a solution to your problem - the old-fashioned way.

Secret There are ways you know... and answers; you just have to decide who you're going to listen to.

If I were you, I'd listen to someone who actually owns and has FSX installed. Failing that, it's just another case of the blind leading the blind. Cool
