I've got a question on multi engined helicopters. I've down loaded the Chinook and CH-53 Superstallion which both have at least two engines. I was trying to see if they could deal with an engine failure and still fly, but as soon as the first engine went out, the rotors stopped. Even though the second and third engines were still running.

I was wondering if there is something in the aircraft.cfg file that tells the program which of the engines is providing the power, and if there is, how to make all three of the engines on the Super Stallion provide the power.

Thank you for your help.

I like flying them also but have no idea about that.
Why not check out some real chopper sites to see how they really handle.

it is a programming issue, not a real world issue. I've done a lot of research on the multi engined helicopters in the real world. I'm just trying to get the programming issue of making the main rotor give lift for each individual engine, not just one.

Hi I worked on Chinooks in the U.S. Army for six years :D And i can tell you from real world experiance that losing one engine wont make the rotors just stop. In fact in the helo world when you lose an engine you have to do what is could a autorotation. You have to keep the rotors spinning till you almost get to the ground then flare the rotors at the last minute. If all goes well you will have made a controled crash landing, but then again most if not all landing or cotroled crashes :D
