More views below (Make sure u put them in number order)

[CameraDefinition.2] [CameraDefinition.3] [CameraDefinition.4] Etc ....

u remeber to make sure the number after the view above is 1 adfter ( So if [CameraDefinition.1] next one would be [CameraDefinition.2]

can someone upload to me the fs9 747?

I'm trying to convert an FS9 Boeing 717 to FSX but it has no sound. It also doesn't have the virtual cockpit. I noticed that if i am in Tower View and I'm close enough to the tower, I can hear the engine noise but if I'm in the cockpit I can't. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Open the Sound folder which resides inside your 717 Aircraft folder. If instead of sound files (WAV files) there is only a sound.cfg file, open it with notepad and post the contents here.

I'm assuming that the sounds are aliased to an aircraft which you don't have in FSX.

Here are the contents of the cfg file. It looks a little light if you ask me.

[fltsim]
alias=b737_400\sound

That is all that is in there. I'm not sure why it says b737 sound since it is a 717, but that is just my novice thoughts.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

It says b737 because whenever you download an aircraft which doesn't have actual sound files inside the sound folder, the sounds will be aliased to sounds that already reside in your simulator.

Just like in the example above. So how come you still don't hear a sound?
Because in FSX you do NOT have a b737_400. I think it's an -800 in FSX. If that's correct, your sound.cfg should look like this instead:

[fltsim]
alias=b737_800\sound

Instead of changing the b737_400 to b737_800 you could simply navigate to the 747 in your aircraft directory, open the sound folder of that aircraft and you'll find that it doesn't contain any actual sounds either... only the sound.cfg -- open it with notepad and you'll find that it is aliased to the b737 that comes with FSX.

Many ways to skin a cat. You can simply Copy and Paste the Sound folder out of the 747 into your 717. Now you should have the 737 default sounds in your 717. Of course they are not authentic, but neither are the 737 sounds inside the 747 🙂

I suggest you follow this procedure to get your head around it if for no other reason. At least you'll have some sound. Later on you can search for a proper 717 sound set in the file libraries.

Cool tailhook, I'll go ahead and try that out. Since I've got the aircraft, I have been flying in complete silence, so it will be nice to have some kind of sound. Thanks a bunch!!!!
