I was behind a 727 that was cleared for an "Unrestricted Climb" out of Fresno, Ca. many years ago. When he rotated he stood that sucker on it`s tail and climbed away like a scalded dog. Made me feel pretty insignificant in the corporate MU-2J I was flying. I thought I was flying a "Hot-Rod" until I saw that take-off. I have a friend who retired out of 727`s and he said that he always considered the 727 the "Fighter Plane" of commercial airliners.
