Nice pictures Airbourne, my favorite would be that DC-6, what was it doing there  7/10 Please direct your complaints to the moon, they might care there. |

@ Airbourne,
The shot of the old DC6 is very interesting, if I may suggest why don't to post that one here: http://www.calclassic.com/ there are a lot of prop guys who would also be interested, I will post it for you if you want but can you give me some details, like where was it, at the airport on some waste land etc?

its hard to explane where the Dc - 6 was , it was set near like an old rusty hanger , like wher they used to keep tanks etc u can see it in the pic on the left hand side , i think there was a cupple of houses nearby as well , so i guessed that someone owned it and was planning on giving it a repaint or something , was very intresting though as u dont see 1 of them evey day
i notest that there was a fence around it too
the location of it was just of the resort of Bahia feliez |

I knew someone on CalClassics would help in identifying the DC-7, this is a copy of their information:
DC-7C (c/n 45159). Short history:
OO-SFC SABENA del 20.12.56; Cvtd to DC-7C(F) 2.61; EC-BNG Spantax SA lsd 10.67; OO-SFC SABENA ret 1.5.68; WFU & stored Brussels, Belgium 5.68; EC-BSQ Spantax SA lsd 23.9.69; Spantax SA bt 31.10.73; WFU & stored Palma, Majorca; Talingo Airlines - ntu; WFU & stored Las Palmas, Gran Canaria .79; Used by airport authority (AENA)

The old clanker seems to be left there to rust. Sad sight. If you don't know what to do with a piece of avation history sell it to someone who can care for it and restore it back to its original glory!  BTW, very interesting pictures! |
