I just finished taking the farnsworth lantern colour deficiency test. I failed. This means that I can't do my dream job: Air force pilot. Also, this meant so much to me that I cried non stop while in the car. It was sad. I don;t know what to do in my life now... Oh, I'm so depressed... |

You may still be able to fly civilian. Check into getting a flight Physical that you would need in your country to qualify for the airlines, normally a class 1. |

In the US, civilian pilots can be given a wavier for certain items on the physical. It should work that way in your country also, check into it with a special doctor that gives flight physicals. |

The flight physical is just an exam, no running or push ups. I hope that you can realize your dream of becoming a pilot. Check with a flight school in your local area for the name of a Doctor that gives flight physicals and schedule one. He is the only authority that can confirm if you qualify, good luck. |

You know what, I'm not gonna give up. I'm going to pursue my dream. And even if I can't join the RAAF i can still do commercial flight. So does my brother. Our plan is to get lots of money through being a pilot, buy houses and stuff, wait a few years, rent/sell them for triple the price and save up our money, not to buy flashy cars or HUGE houses. Just livable ones. And then, i will be able to buy a F/A-18 hornet. I saw a story. This guy who flies for american airlines, his dream was to fly the F-104 Starfighter. He saved his money and spent it cleverly and he bought one. But it costs him $1,000,000 Just to RUN it. Me and my bro have some serious work to do ;D |

It's possible that you are using AOL or that the host who has a very tight firewall has blocked your IP or ISP.
Sorry but it's happened before.

Hey, Walesdragon!
Sorry to hear your news. I know how it feels - when I left school I went for the Royal Navy hoping to fly Harriers, but I'm slightly short sighted and that meant they wouldn't accept me. I was gutted and didn't know what to do.
I became a police officer in London and have been for many years. It's a very rewarding career. I still hope to get my PPL & maybe more, we'll see.
Point being, you never know what's round the corner. Hang in there and, as the others have quite rightly said, never give up mate.
Keep smiling, and best of luck.
Lee "Any landing you walk away from is a good landing" ...well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it... |
