Hey guys,
I cant say how frusterating this is. For some reason everytime I try to install and run any kind of water enhancement, llike morewatr.zip, the simulator always freezed at 77% loading when entering a flight. I have trouble getting the thumbs data base file to copy over, but even renaming it should do the trick, and it doesnt. And I know my hardware will handle it. Can anyone break down how to install and run these gorgeaous water graphics? |

According to his instructions (which leave much to be desired) you put the texture folder in to your main texture folder and the scenery into the scenery and let them overwrite the default.
I hope you backed up your default folders before loading these.
What video card, CPU and how much memory do you have.
I'm sure your ok but...
Wait until tomorrow to see if anyone else has used it.

Yeah, everything was done the way he said, and I also made backups. We are trying to do this on a p4 2.4ghz ht 128 ati 9600pro 1gb ddr ram. Does anyone know of a better water effects download that works, and is preferably free? Guess Ill be waiting. |

Go to Avsim and type water textures in the search engine under scenery and you get 3 pages of them |

ArchAngel_06,
FS2004 Sparkling water with sun and moon reflection textures. **Caution** these textures are only for DX9 compliant cards and will not work unless you can move the "Water Effects" to High in your display options! -By Bill Lyons. (1.1MB) Filename: fs9wat.zip.

I've tried every water upgrade and nothing really is that good. I even have F1-water and that's just Okay.
I hope this is an area FS10 addresses????
I've seen some good water in some Vidios of FS9 aircraft but don't have a clue as to where they come from.. the water that is... |

Ya. scenery is a thing in it's self...
I have U.S.A. water and it messed up Hawwii's coast land. I have the default and U.S.A. water's coast mixing it up. And what lakes it added where i fly mostly the lakes are not flat. Like i have 30 ft waves on small ponds. They are supose to fix it on the next update! "Flatten"
U.S.A. water did real good in trying to help me. The new waters left one of my favorite grass strips out in the water (default airport - not in the correct location). They sent me my own "David.bgl" to fix it. And they tried to tell me how to fix Hawwii but I couldn't find the bgl they said had the default coast land for that area. Any one out there know?? ha, ha.
