Well, here we go, another complaint about the PIC 737-300.
After solving the engine shutdown on load problem, I set up a FSPassengers flight.
I left Portland Intl in Portland, Oregon about half past five in the afternoon. On the climb to FL300, the number two slowly died. After descending to FL150 and successfully restarting the ailing engine, I took another whack at the climb to cruising altitude. Unfortunately, while I wasn't paying attention, the number two once more died, and before I could rectify the problem, it flamed out. I declared an emergency, began descending (again), and rang up the ATC to change my IFR destination. Unfortunately, before I could ask for a diversion, the plane blew up. Okay, it didn't really, but FlightSim crashed to the desktop with no error message of any kind.
Upset, I tried again.
I took off, retracted the flaps (because FSPassengers breaks them at about 220 KIAS), then lifted the gear lever. Which failed. Happily, I managed to land safely.
What is going on here? Is it just a borked FSP file, or is it that the PIC 737 is completely unreliable?
Anyone else have these experiences? |

Update:
Flight 3 - Successful, no problems.
Flight 4 - Engine fire in #1. Landed safley.
Flight 5 - Total hydraulics failure. Crashed in Nevada desert.
With my airline, the PIC 737 has a 20% saftey record. Wholey underwheleming.... |
