....to select the "Major Thunderstorm" weather setting when you have'nt flown from or to a carrier for a while .
All i did was bolter, bolter, bolter 4 or 5 times and then diverted.
Just a couple of shots so you don't get too bored !
Thought i'd give the Skywarrior (now freeware from Alphasim) a try
Must'nt forget to unfold the wings or we won't get far off the cat
On approach (again)...
..and again....
...and again...
..and all with the same result...floating over the wires and adding power
Next time i'll try "Fair Weather" |

Finally, we have one of the kings of screenshots bringing us back with wonderful stories attached to the pictures. 10/10 Welshflyer!!! Please direct your complaints to the moon, they might care there. |

Great effort Welshflyer
This is one good looking a/c and your pics are first class as usual. Thanks for bringing this Alpha Skywarrior to our attention. You even added the coolest looking paint (IMO) to it.
Now to the bolting... you haven't lost the edge, I've tried several times in clement weather... sailed in smoothly, perfect altitude, speed and alignment but the damn hook just wouldn't grab. Used the same carrier you did, tried other carriers -- no luck. The only time I didn't bolt I crashed on the deck and blew up in a fireball --should've dumped fuel I guess
I don't know if you still have the BAE Systems T-45C Goshawk... I used that one after my misadventures with the Skywarrior, same carriers, same weather conditions; first trap no problemo - smooth like butter.
I've experimented a lot with carrier a/c lately and sadly some of my favorite ones have the same problem as the Skywarrior: the hook just won't grab. One could easily jump to the conclusion that all that's needed is for the hook to be adjusted but I really haven't got a clue - maybe there's more to it than meets the eye. I'd really like to know how to edit this recalcitrant behaviour.
End of rant |

Haha, there some great pics Welsh! Try the VRS F/A-18E landing on the USS Enterprise. Its a fancy trick to land it.
You can also try Seven-G's new beta.
http://www.seven-g.com/
I tried it, and I love it! It has the fully functional F/A-18 even with AA and AG combat! |
