In case you're intending to put that card inside a computer, the specs of that computer will determine what type of card it can accommodate. Idea

Well I have 2 x 8800GT and I can run the most detailed addons with AI traffic and everything and average 60fps. I suggest you go with a card that is at least 512 MB. I think you can get the 8800GT for around $50 for a good deal, but there are better cards like the 9800GT which is a little bit more expensive. If you ask me, Nvidea all the way Very Happy

PS: Im n00bish with Hardware things, just trying my best to help Wink

Cheeks you better inform matt_flyaway that to run 2 x 8800GTs he needs a SLI mobo... an educated guess: He doesn't have that, else he'd be aware of it. Oh, and BTW, is that FSX where you can run the most detailed addons with AI traffic and everything and average 60fps? Remember this is the Hardware forum which caters for both, fs9 and FSX Wink
Bet you got a Dell XPS - have you?

matt_flyaway the way to inquire about hardware components is as follows:

*If you have a brand computer such as Dell, HP etc., look up your model on the www and paste the link into your post so we can look at the specs without going back and forth asking many questions and getting no answers because you simply don't know.

*If on the other hand you have a custom-built computer, download EVEREST Free Edition 2.20 from here Arrow http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html and install it. It's very user-friendly, doesn't expire and doesn't run in the background. Just play around with it, you can't do any damage. All it does is scan your computer (when you run it) and lets you know exactly what your computer specs (hardware parts) are.
Each part has a unique name which you or some kind soul here can look up on the www and find out what and what not your motherboard can handle for example.

Custom built... good for you Thumbs Up! I was so stupid to buy a Dell a year ago against my gut feeling and everything I had ever read and experienced re brand computers Wall Bashing ...serves me right. It's got 2x8800 in SLI like yours, but a 2.4 Core Duo Quad which is the big letdown. To think that it was advertised as "one of the best brand gaming computers" at the time...

Well, I always did treat MSFS as a game Shocked ...maybe that's where it all went wrong -- my bad Mr. Green
