As the title suggests there was a payware tour here beginning, but as ALL images (even my past ones) have been minimised, there's no point so i've deleted the whole thread as you cannot see the detail. What's that all about or is it just my PC?
Nope, other sites are fine, way to go Flyaway, as if it's not quiet enough here as it is you drive people away with stuff like this! |

Considering there's not much activity here these days, i just wonder on the thinking of reducing the size of the screenshots, i for one won't be putting any more shots here due to the ridiculously small size that they've been reduced to! A good tour or storyline may be enough to bring some activity back here but if you can't see it properly...well....it's a good way to finish off the site ! |

what????????????
Screenshots here used to be 800 x 600 now they've been reduced to about 600 x 400, too small to be of any interest or to see any great detail!
That's what???????????????? |

Quite ridiculous, way to kill a website. I'd love to see a graph of daily users, it would be a steady decline, and will continue to go that way.
Good work Flyaway, you sure know how to kill a site! Please direct your complaints to the moon, they might care there. |

WOW.
I havnt been here for awhile but not i just got back into FS2004 again, i thought id come back and say hi. Looking around, The new picture size is just ridiculous.
You won't find me posting anymore of my screenshots here as 600 x 400 is just a awefull size to see any quality i take into my screenshots.
I keep posting on sites like FSW where they allow quality.
When i first joined here in 2007 there was lots of members posting, now i count around 4 to 7 average avtive members, you might have thousands of members paying you there cash each month but is this what they get in return? A almost dead site.. I say Flyaway, Change the ways a little.
I just looked at a few of my old screenshots,
http://flyawaysimulation.com/postt35961.html
http://flyawaysimulation.com/postt35364.html
http://flyawaysimulation.com/postt35088.html
Where's the quality gone? Let me tell you, its 600 x 400. Change it back to 1024 or 800.
Thats my little say.
Sorry you had to ruin a good thread welshy due to this stupid change.

To clarify jianqing, this is the "Flight Simulator 2004 Screenshots Forum" that we're concerned with here.
The 'gallery' you are referring to is by definition a place where you look at individual pieces of exhibits, such as pictures.
I enjoy going to an art gallery to study and admire the works of art. It doesn't take much imagination to realise that it is impossible to interact with the creator of any of those exhibits.
The "Flight Simulator 2004 Screenshots Forum" is a different baby all together. I remember that it was created because members wanted to show off their creations and at the same time get feed-back as well as being able to discuss individual elements of their screenies such as: aircraft type, scenery, weather textures etc..
Add to that the astonishingly beautiful, creative and imaginative series of screenshots which some members have contributed and spoiled us with for our enjoyment. The pics in those series aren't all there is to it: More often than not , humorous commentaries or detailed data of the flight(s) depicted have enhanced those truly remarkable explorations of FS9.
With this in mind, I cannot bear a grudge against the members who used to spend many hours on their creations and now refuse posting in this forum with it's new restrictions.
PS: Hitting the PrintScreen button and creating a palatable collage are two entirely different processes. Try it, I dare you |

Tailhook has just summed this up in a much better way than i ever could, this forum section is..sorry..was... a way of, for me anyway, telling a story in picture form. Trying to show not only what could be done with FS but with your own imagination, which is limitless, especially for those of us passionate about not only FS but Aviation in all its forms. This site was the first i ever found as a guest and then a member, the knowledge i've gained alone from the screenshot section is immesurable.Just looking at some of the shots before i even had the knowledge or courage to post my first was fantastic. I gazed at them in awe, wishing i could do something like that, then, slowly, with the help of the good members here like Tailhook, RadarMan and GreekMan72 i gradually built the confidence to post my first screenshot. Then i progressed to storytelling in screenshot form, which i enjoyed doing and still do. So please FlyAway give us back a decent screenshot size, don't kill off what was the best FS site, you surely must realise that this is the only thing that's keeping the forums alive!
You yourself must have once been passionate about FS to start the site, so please don't forget what it's all about.
It's about this

Which looks rubbish at this size

Just to let you know.
Flyaway is out of town for a short while but before he left we spoke about the screenshot sizes in this and FSX forums.
He reduced them because of complaints about scrolling the large sizes.
He is willing to rethink it and I suggested 800X600?????
Also there will be a nice change (if possible) to the screenshot gallery.
Wait till he comes back.

Well that is sad to hear Welsh, but encouraging to hear Radar! I hope y'all get it back on track... that's one of the main reasons i keep coming home is to see what Welsh has posted! US AIR TALES- Stories of one man's virtual life as a pilot |

Don't get your hopes up guys - I believe it when I see it.
Nothing will be done about resizing the screenies, just like nothing was done to bring back the Avatars. Talk is cheap.
When the Avatars disappeared the excuse was some connection to the AVSIM attack...
Next thing to go will be the Signatures - wanna bet? |

Its so deserted around here I don't think anyone will even enforce the screen cap size. I've put it in a folder of old bookmarks because its just so barren. |

I'm with bel... dang... if you loose Welsh and his fantastic presentations I wonder if I want to resume my presentation of re-creating the historic flights. Welsh has always been a good follower and I've always looked forward to his feedback as well as you Bel and RM, Rzrglz912, Tailhook, who have all made comments in this thread about how this site isn't doing so well.
Maybe it will make my life easier though because I've been feeling guilty about not getting back here sooner to enjoy the fine presentations I've seen over the years. |
