FS2004 live weather system

I usually use the basic weather selections, but when i tried to use the "live" weather system which updates it's self every 15 minutes it seems to do nothing. For example I'll look online and see a bunch of storms in Florida and then i'll go onto FS2004 and select the live weather option. When i get to the airport that is suppose to have some thunderboomers nearby, all there will be is a few clouds, what gives?
