I've been using proflightsimulator (found at www.rcplanesimulator.com), so I'm not familiar with Microsoft's flight simulator at all other than the screen shots I have seen...which have been amazing! Can anyone tell me why I should purchase this product over what I have...like, what can it offer me above what I already have? I want the best flight sim available as my brothers and I all play it together. We live in different states, and this is one way we keep in touch. The one I have allows us all to fly together. Can microsoft offer us that same feature?

Thanks in advance!

I have not flown Pro Flight but I have completely enjoyed the FSX experience since it came out.

I know you can fly multiplayer through (memory fails me so someone please fill in the blank)'s service, and even acting as ATC. That's fun as well.

Whether the Pro Flight is better than FSX or not, you need to consider the community involved. There are so many addons for FSX by way of free and payware. There's aircraft liveries, scenery enhancements, player created missions and my favorite, FSPassengers! (http://fspassengers.com/). That alone puts FSX way above the rest in my opinion.

If you and your brothers like formation flying, the other option is Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2. Ultra realistic combat sim which offers some cool flying of a few military aircraft. Or you can just fly the Blue Angels in the FSX expansion, FSX Acceleration.

Hope this helps.

FSX is a bit more in depth than R/C Pro Flight.... in fact they are both very different.

But let give you some what of an idea what FSX does or can /will do:

You can add additional aircraft, helicopters, cars, boats or scenery....

It accounts for all weather conditions, so if its raining where you live, its raining in the sim....

You can share your cockpit (if you choose to fly commercial jets) with your brother in multiplayer. In fact, during a multiplayer session, you still can fly anywhere around the world, even in someone else's session.

The accuracy of some freeware aircraft are amazing, but the payware aircraft are even more detailed; some companies dedicate themselves to producing the best add-ons for FSX.

Ability to auto-pilot, and auto-land certain aircraft...

There's too much to mention... in order for you to decide, you gotta check out this site more, check out the screenshots section, take a look at developer websites such as PDMG, Iris Simulations, iFly, Ariane, Nemeth Designs, Carenado, Alpha Sim, Captain Sim, Commercial Level Simulations....

Just do the research....

EDIT: Just took at that link. There is no way in (insert comment here) will that crap tops FSX.... I don't even like how they insinuate how it beats FSX in the amount of planes, nor airports it has:

150+ Airplanes and Helicopters? I was at over 200 at one point; it took up the load time of the aircraft database I collected to select one.... it was that many.

20,000 airports? Really? That LESS? How about Starks Twin Oaks? Or how about the landing strip John Travolta flies from? I am not even including the military airfields that are included in FSX.... There is more than 20,000 in the world, buddy....

Why is all the developers still making add-on aircrafts and scenery for Microsoft FSX, FS2004, and FS2002? Haven't heard of not one developer making a single aircraft for that particular simulator. Looks like they took World of AI aircrafts and made them flyable.... Those screenshot textures are horrid!!!

Lastly, and more importantly.... why spend 50.00 for a simulator when you can get FSX Gold (Deluxe Edition AND Acceleration Pack) for 30.00 LESS?

Nice sales pitch by the way..... yeah.... I am raising the BS flag.
