Hey there,
Its good to be back after two years in the FS world! And this is the only site I could think of! The FS world has changed so much with so many innovations, its kinda difficult believe.

Ok lets cut it short, I'm buying a high end laptop (cant buy a desktop due to space constraints in my apartment) and I need some serious inputs on the same.
When I quit flyin couple of years back there was a lot of talk regarding the hardware issues which members faced. So I thought of clearing all doubts before I progress to the next step.
I plan to insall FSX deluxe with lot of aircraft addons My Traffic X and REX. The laptop I've chosen is Sony Vaio VPCSA35GG/BI and the config is as follows:
Intel® Core™ i7-2640M Processor 2.80 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.50 GHz
8GB Ram
750 GB (Serial ATA, 5400 rpm)
AMD Radeon™ HD 6630M (SPEED MODE) / Intel® HD Graphics 3000 (STAMINA MODE) Dedicated Video Memory 1 GB DDR3 (SPEED MODE)
Display: 13.3 (33.78 cms) wide (WXGA++: 1600x900) TFT colour display (VAIO Display Plus, LED backlight)
With HDMI out

The plan is to connect the notebok with HDMI out to my 42" LED and play. What level of performance and frame rates can I expect? Has anybody got good result with a VAIO playing FSX?
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Looks good.
You should be able to run it at better than default settings but you will have to take it easy on things like movable AI, clouds, shadows and autogen (heavy ground scenery).
A locked FPS of 20 seems to run FSX quite well.
