It's the new drivers for your card that's causing the problem.
Go to ATI and download older drivers, I think there were a 4.1 driver, use it and make certain that you have cleaned out the old drivers before loading the new ones.
Reload DirectX 9.0c in case it became corrupted and use the old control panel for your card instead if the new one and that crummy .Net from MS.
Let us know how you do.

Forget that message you didn't touch the VGA drivers. Just "do your thing".
Uninstall the video drivers in "safe mode" if you have to then go back to Windows and install the video drivers.
When you reboot Windows should forget about the VGA drivers.
If you uninstalled the video drivers already which ones are you running the card on.
You can find out by going to /start/run/and type in dixdiag, that'll tell you what drivers are loaded and you can test them there also.

They usually put old drivers on the disk, how are they working.
If you keep having problems you can run it in the Window mode (Alt+Enter) it should run better there for now.
You can find out by going to /start/run/and type in dixdiag, that'll tell you what drivers are loaded and you can test them there also.
Don't forget you have to go to the control panel to uninstall the old drivers in "Add or Remove" programs.

ATI
I know very little about ATI vid cards.but I do know that OMEGA do tweaked drivers for ATI
Select ATI then your windows version from the top and it should present you with some "modified" drivers
http://www.omegadrivers.net/
they are certainly worth a try
Note they also do NVidia drivers which I use |

I still don't know which drivers you are using but it may not be the drivers after a half an hour.
It may be overheating, that usually causes crashes after a period of time.
Take the side of your case and run the sim for a long time.
If it doesn't crash then you can add a $10 fan in the rear and that will cure the problem.
I hope you clean the inside of your computer occasionally, especially the CPU fan. The fans pick up quite a bit of dust.
Try that, and let us know how you do.

I got rid of all the dust and there was a lot of it.The sim still keeps locking up and I dont want to try it again unless I'm sure its going to work becouse I will have to turn off my pc by the power button which is not good for it.I dont think it is over haeting becouse I have a very big fan on the side of the pc.I have two ideas left
1:Reduse AA and AF and other settings
2:install fs9 again becouse I think something is not loading properly
I would rather not reduse AA and AF becouse those are the mian reason I got the card.I dont think installing fs9 agian will work I have done it three times already |

Unless you loaded some scenery or are flying the same route (some of MS's scenery un-patched can cause crashes) every time it crashes the only thing that comes to mind is heat.
Try it with the side off, did you put the fan on the side or did it come that way.
Side fans are supposed to blow cool air in not take hot air out.
I would try the side off myself but it's up to you of course.
I seriously doubt that it is AA or AF but it could be the driver itself.
The dust around the CPU fan is bad, glad you got rid of it.
Good luck and let us now what you decide.

It came with the fan on it.I tried it with the side of and it crashed. What do you mean by unpatched I downloaded the 9.1patch and dont have any loaded scenery (do you mean d/loaded scenery). The man at the pc shop siad something about it might help if you have it all on the hardrive so I tried down loading the no cd crack but neither of them work.Maby I do need a a extra fan but I cant see how the 9600pro card can cause so much heat its not the best or most pawerfull card.Is a new fan expensive. |

Yes I meant downloaded scenery.
I don't know how long you have been flying but when you didn't have the new patch did it still crash or could the patch be causing the crashes.
The no-cd cracks work, I've been using them since the sim came out and almost all the members here use them.
Fans are very cheap.
You can get a good one to put in the back for $10-$20 in stores, cheaper if you buy it on the net. If taking the side of didn't work the extra fan won't stop the crashes, it'll help the computer but not the crashes.
Reload it without the patch and get new drivers for your video card.

It did crash without the patch. With my old card the no-cd crack worked fine but now a message comes up saying that a dll application is missing what does mean?is there any way of getting rid of the patch without installing the flight sim agian. Before I got the new card I reinstall XP and after I found out the game did not work I tried agian I olso installed the game three times i d'loaded all the new drivers from ATI I d/loaded the drivers you and TTT sugestid. The pc shop just did the same thing except with a bit of formating.I play the Lord of the Rings game and that works fine although I dont play it much.I only had one scenery d/load and that was for madiera but its not there as I got rid of it I dont fly there much anyway.I'm now using the drivers on the disk that came with the card.I have proberly told you all this before but I just want to make sure you now everything maby you will spot any mistakes I have made. Thanks agian for your help RadarMan. |

No I'm quite certain that you cannot uninstall the MS patch, you have to reload the sim.
You can then use the no-cd crack for the un-patched version.
http://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/82/no-cd-cracks/
A dll. missing, my guess is that you didn't change all the small items that needed changing when you patched the sim.
The old drivers should work after you reinstall the sim, the card won't be as effective as it can be with new drivers but if it works leave it alone.
Lord of the Rings probably isn't as graphic intensive as FS9.
Uninstall, make sure all of it is gone, reinstall, don't try the crack, use disk #4 and see if it works.
If it does work then you can use the crack.
Stay away from the patch.
 Lets hope this works.

If a CD came with your set-up you should download the monitor drivers again.
With all of the various problems I'd reinstall windows and all the drivers that came with it.
You do mean a CRT with a flat screen not a LCD flat panel. Check the model and see what the maximum resolution is for it.

LCD's are very nice, clear and bright. I like a very large (old eyes) monitor so I stick with the flat screen CRT, in larger sizes they are much cheaper and still have a good bright picture. I have a 22" 20" viewable.
As long as you don't try to exceed the maximum your fine, you don't want to damage the monitor.
If you are having problems with it you should see if the manufacturer has new drivers for it.

the web site says it deos not need driver it runs without them.I would rather not run it any lower than 1280x1024x16 becouse the sim starts to look bad it adds a lot of jaggs and strange shimering which can get so bad it looks as if the ground was moving. It was fine set at max resolution with the old card. |
