And how many A320s were forced to make emergency landings due to cocked nosegears in the past year.. Compare to the 737 for the same period.

I don't hate Airbus. I just find them so boring. That's the result of design by international committee. Build one aircraft and then make it in different sizes with no innovation. Cookie cutter aircraft.

And, by the way, your post has nothing to do with subject of this discussion.

You should simply believe that Spruce Goose is largest aircraft ever made when calculated using measurements. An-225 wins if calculated using MTOW.

Spruce Goose has larger wing area and how large the aircraft is defined by wing area or MTOW. Spruce Goose beats An-225 by 1688 sq. ft. If I don't remember wrong also the total surface area of Hk-1 is larger than An-225's.

If you want a Spruce Goose to Flightsim you should download this one

You should simply NOT believe that Spruce Goose is the larget aircraft ever made.
This site http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/design/q0188.shtml
clearly states this:
"Your question really comes down to how you decide to compare one plane to another. One of the measurements you mention is wingspan. While this dimension is often used to compare overall size, it is generally not the most accepted measure. Aircraft are usually ranked by weight, the maximum takeoff weight in particular. By this measure, the world's largest plane is the Antonov An-225 built in Ukraine when it was part of the Soviet Union."
Or does this site lies about it too?
http://www.tiaca.org/articles/2001/12/07/019DE2E77A974A319FECFD75CC8558E4.asp
How about this site?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/1317779.stm
Even if you measure the plane by the wingspan, how good is it if it can't fly?

Ops sorry...
Spruce Goose flew. 1 mile, lol. And then never took off again.
Nice plane. Beautifully built. $25mil. put in and can't even fly again.
Museum is were it belongs.

Check the graphic that Oberkommando posted. The AN-225 is clearly longer and the only reason the spruce goose has a greater wing span is because they are not swept back. If your measure the leading edge of the wings of both planes, you would find the wings on the AN-225 are longer.

So, if the AN-225 has a longer fusilage, longer wings, greater MTOW, more power, greater cargo storage area than the spruce goose, can someone claiming the spruce goose is bigger, please tell me what definition of "bigger" they are using?!?!

never miss the chance to diss on someone eh crash?

They "diss" themselves by putting mouth in motion before putting brain in gear. The statistics are clear, the graphic posted made it more clear, but some people insist a plane is larger, solely because they like it and wish it was.

This thread has become as meaningless as the one about Pricess Juliana Airport.

By the way, I quoted the way I did because the forum software wasn't allowing quotes in the normal manner, for some reason.

..i figured I might as well make my presence somewhere in these 8 pages of mayhem, lol

...i always thought the An-225 took 1st place, over the Spruce Goose and the A380.

...and to those of you going on about "Airbus sucks!" "Boeing is better!" "I dont like Airbus!" etc....

please stop, it's pointless to debate this. both boeing and airbus are fine aircraft manufacturers who build safe and productive airliners for the airline industry.

there have been many airbus and boeing crashes alike, so please, let's not argue over who is better. yes, they are competitors, but their products are still the same basic thing: a means of quick and safe transportation of people and goods. and hey.. they work, dont they? Cool

..and i can say the same thing for any other aircraft manufacturer also..
