Playing CFS3 without joystick

ive just bourght cfs 3 and i was wondering if its possible to play the game without a joystick. ive played the game for a few hours and im finding it difficult to move the plane and track enemies.
i was also wondering that because ive just bourght the game does that mean its the latest version or will i still need to download the latest patch?

Play the CFS (and sims in general)without a joystick except from difficult its not so realistic(my opinion).Its your choice if you wnat to update your sim or not.That hasnt to do with joystick usage.

That 'game' as I call it is almost impossible to operate -with- a joy stick let alone without. I have tried and tried to get a grip on that program and just hung it up recently and uninstalled. Anybody want a free copy it's all yours.
