hey guys. if you guys didn't know i am wanting to be a comercail pilot when i get older and i was wondering if pilots that are trained in the air force have a higher value to airlines then pilots trained in a flight school, because they are used to flying bigger planes. is this true?

It depends, if you were flying a big multi engine cargo plane in the military they would like that better than if you were flying a fighter, but that dosen't mean that going to a big fligt school like Embry-Riddle isn't good either. If you go either way the airlines are going to really like you, but what they like best are people with alot of multi engine time.

I'm not a bad pilot, I just like experimenting a little.

You will tend to have a better financial future in the long run. By this I mean, you won't be starting out at $20,000 a year flying regional puddle jumpers to make your way up.

Most pilots that I know that have retired and gone to the airlines end up flying Dash 8's, 737's, 747's etc.

Flying heavies makes a little difference when you go to the airlines, but it's not as much as most people will put into it.
Why is it that most ATC controllers can't drink coffee and direct traffic at the same time?

If you do decide to be a pilot in the USAF, you have to serve a minimum of 10 years.
Pilots are pedestrians without P.O.L. Very Happy

You can't be drafted if you are already serving.
