HUD is the abbreviation for Heads Up Display. As far as I know , only used in fighter aircraft. A HUD shows vital flightdata on (or near) the windscreen. The advantage of this is that the aviator doesn't have to look DOWN into the cockpit to his instruments, in which case he could miss vital information going on around him. In other words, the pilot can keep his head up while watching his surroundings AND reading important flight data at the same time. Ninja

What is a HUD?

I think it means 'heads up display', but I'm open to correction on that. What does 'heads up display' mean anyway?

That has got to be the longest URL I've seen. The owner of the site has probably never heard of the KISS principle. Rolling Eyes

That's not a HUD. It's an 'Overhead Panel.

Try the greg737.zip available at avsim. I think it has an overhead panel.

the hud is the little glass thing hanging down on captians side, and i got that greg737 panel before and i hated it cuz it was very realistic. i use the pspanels 737 panel on my 737 classic series and that is alot better, and free.

and here is another cool picture of one on aproach

I give up - I'm sure someone more knowledgeable with more patience will come along and sort this out with you
