Purpose of Post: To open minds of those who beleive on one specific aircraft type is the "best", thus allowing them to explore the world of Flight Simulator.
Please post what your all-time favorite aircraft is. Be it GA, Jet, Helicopter, hover craft......if it flies and you happen to love it, please post it and why you like it so much. I'll start off.
My all time favorite aircraft is the B757-200. It has wonderful handling, suitable for short, medium, and long flights. Fits an adequate number of passengers. Very economical. Panel like a dream. Definately reccommended for everyone 🙂.
The Piper Cub. Pure flying at it's best. A pilot can really fly this aircraft. No computers, autopilots or ATC telling you what to do. You get a chance to enjoy the view. Use your skills to fly and navigate. One of the best aircraft ever built. 😎
My signature.
Perfect Shape,Vintage craft,Taildragger,Great prop sound,Speedy... ❤️
It has to be the one in the second graphic of my signature, The Cessna 337 Super Skymaster.
Two engines (one in front, one in back), just so pleasant to fly. In fact, as I am typing this, I am flying it from Palm Springs to Cabo San Lucas.
There are a lot of planes I like, but this has been my favorite for quite a while.
many regional jets or props! i really couldn't choose - i'm yet to find my soulmate. i just like flights around an hour long at 250knots+ in a plane big enough to impress your mates.
- dornier 328 prop or jet (the eaglesoft version may win my heart soon)
- dash 8 q100 (dreamwings model did it for me, easy to fly)
- fokker 70 (project fokker, classic noise and looks)
- crj 200 (fast, economical, good looking)
- an 148 (samdim - great looking)
- boeing 717 (effortless to fly, nice sound)
my heart mainly goes to good looking planes with great panels! anything with that combo does it really to be fair...
PMDG 744 and 737 🙂 They totally changed my way of flying
I like the ATR - it's a turboprop and in this sense an "oldie", but it's also pretty sophisticated and modern.
I like the Airbus family, their fly-by-wire is true innovation and if I'm right the A350 will be the new king of the skies.
I like the Boeing 737. There's something homely about it (especially the 400 and 500), something assuring. Like a trusty horse - not a stallion perhaps, but loyal and always willing to work.
General aviation? I don't know... nothing stands out unfortunately. But I will admit I don't know that much about GA.
Has to be the 777 for me, the latest addition to the present Boeing fleet, is economical, carries a resonably high number of passengers, has ultra long range in the ER and LR models, good cockpit layout, and it has the greatest design in passenger jets so far (well in my opinion anyway).
For sight seeing and goofing around, I like the T-38. Afterburning engines and it cruises around 500 knots at altitude so you can cover lots of ground quickly. Decent acrobatic aircraft but lousy for instrument training (unless you want a good challenge). I flew these for 6 months in USAF pilot training and the model does a decent job of simulating the real thing.
Baron 58 for instrument work. I haven't flown a Baron for real but the default model acts very close to a Piper Senaca which I have flown.
Disappointments -- Any Learjet. I flew a Learjet 35 for 3 years and I cannot find any FS model that behaves like the real thing. Same goes for the DC-10-30.
My favourite, the first real plane I flew under instruction, a Tiger Moth, and now having instruction with a Cessna 152, so that's my second. And this after my 75th. you're as young as you feel, and when flying, I feel newborn.
I agree with Crash Gordon. The Cessna Skymaster, in my case the military version O2A, has got to be one of the most fun aircraft in my hangar. Great sound and a joy to fly.
The Airbus A340-600 is my favorite aicraft.
The lenght of this aircraft is impressive. "4 engines 4 long haul" 😉
Oh, did I meantion it has a very quiet cabin and cockpit?
This beauty has an unforgettable cockpit ❤️

😳 OMG, I thought I was the oldest old f*rt around here, at 62. 😳
Geez Crash, I got you beat by 3 years.
I'm gonna have to work harder to catch up!
I'm gonna have to work harder to catch up!
I'll be scared if that day comes 😳
Crash, can you shut down one of the engines on the Super Skymaster and cruise with just one? I suppose not, but I figured you'd know, assiming you're the master with it. 😛
FEM, I'd assume you could cruise on one engine as I've taken off with just the rear engine running cause I forgot to start the front one. (Sometimes I taxi to the runway on just one engine.) Getting airborne was sluggish but entirely possible.
ahh, danke mein freund 😉
I do not have an all-time favorite aircraft .
How could I? I like to experiment and discover. Besides, as long as this world keeps on turning, things will never be the same from one moment to the next - that includes the way I think, my likes and dislikes and of course the aircraft I like. 😀
My favorite is the Boeing 747 Series. Why I like it: Nice aircraft to fly and it was the first Jumbo Jet.

Harder???
If you work harder i think that you reduce the possibilities to catch them up my old friend...
Relax, peace, teas, and good company for cards, after your soup....This is the way...
😉 😂 😂 😂
(of course you know that im kidding 😉 )
Im going to be different and say the MD-11, why ? no reason necessary apart from the fact that it is a beautiful aircraft to fly. 😎
My favourite aircraft is the Beechcraft Baron 58 by far. It is a joy to fly and it is also relatively easy to fly. It is a nice aircraft to look at in my opinion. I will hopefully become an airline when I am older and hopefully also one day will fly in a Beech Baron.
I usually have different planes that I like each month 😀 , but I think that this plane tops them all - over the A319, 747 and the A330/A340 - and this is an aircaft that I can actually fly properly - witha little help from some of the people at Flyaway 😉
Thats my view
Mike
I also prefer the Beechcraft Baron, as it's relatively easy to fly and land.
737, I really like jets, but I need to be more experienced at flying them.
Regards
🙂 😀
My favourite aircraft is the Supermarine Spitfire, probably the Mk Vc although the only version I have to fly in FS2004 is the Mk XIV (I fly the Mk Vc whenever I can in IL2)
The aircraft is simply THE best sounding aircraft you can have fly past, especially a few of them at once! (Which is the equivalent of a Lancaster which sounds fantastic too, being 4 Rolls Royce Merlin engines as well)
The aircraft is massivley iconic and symbolises the bravery of hundreds of young men who flew in them and the glorious Hawker Hurricane to beat off the Luftwaffe during the Battle Of Britain.
It is simply the best looking aircraft too, its shape is just amazing - by far the best looking aircraft single prop ever designed in my humble opinion.
Best looking twin prop of course being the Mosquito 🙂
B737-800/900 series winglets model. I think because this was my first aircraft I've flown with in my life, love from first sight... ❤️ Additionaly the engines have wonderful shape, like no onther plane, they are powerfull as well. Interior is big enough to feel allright and not like A318 or 319 and isn't that big like 747 or 767 were you have seats in middle section where you see nothing but pax and their heds.
I have to say it is the Airbus A340 family. 🙄
i do like this machine.

Sorry CrashG'. I'd love to get my hands on one of these VCs, if they are anything like the sim version, it's a beauty to fly in fs9.

You're a very brave young man 😀
I wouldn't ask for a beating at the young age of 11
My favorite aircraft has to be the C182, quite fast and seat of the pants at the same time.
im sorry but for me its got to be the sr71 blackbird fast and sleek
and good looking for an old bird
For me, the Beechcraft King Air 350 is a superb aircraft to fly. If you want to start a flight that may be as long as 150 miles, I can fly on VFR, using VOR beacons or ADF. Even a set FS2004 flight plan, sometimes. I've added another Beechcraft aircraft, the Duke, which I've got in the standard twin piston engines, and the 'Royal Turbine', which has twin turboprops. I've recently added a biplane, the De Havilland Dragon Rapide, which is fun to fly, and can cruise at a somewhat faster airspeed than the Cessna Skyhawk or its sister plane, the Sylane.
