Hi all,
What is the maximum flap speed in a 737? I keep destroying them.
Also, I was just flying a mission on fspassengers and I lost an engine whilst landing. I managed to land safely, just about, the aircraft needs new tyres but it said I never checked the engine speeds at take off and one was faster that the other which caused the blow out at low altitudes....What was I supposed to have done here?
Thanks!
The maximum speed will be around 200 KIAS or maybe a bit lower, but I can't be specific.
On take off, you increase engine power to 40% N1 and make sure both engines have spooled up correctly. Here you would realise that one engine is subordinate to the other, and abort the take off. After you have increased the engines to 40% N1, and everything is fine, then you increase to full power, whilst still monitoring the engines. If a problem occurs before V1, then abort the take off. If it is after V1 and you are closely approaching VR, then you must take off, because it is likely there won't be enough runway to stop
😉
yup V1 is usually known as "the point of no return" meaning you must proceed with takeoff and land as soon as possible if you have a problem.
Excellent, thanks very much for your replies.
I found the 40% thrust thing in the manual but nothing about flap speeds....maybe im missing something.
Normally, I start with 5 degrees flaps at around 190 KIAS.
10 degrees 180 KIAS
15 degrees 170 KIAS
20 degrees 150 KIAS
25 degrees 135 KIAS
Full Flaps = Landing speed (120-130 KIAS)
😉

I managed to find the maximum flap speeds in the aircraft folder, and here they are: (all speeds are in KIAS):
1: 230
2: 230
5: 225
10: 210
15: 195
25: 190
30: 185
40: 158
