Text messages sent to my cell phone are deleted without bein read. It's a phone, not a music or video player, and certainly not a repository for messages that are nothing more than gibberish.

People that have to reach me when I am out and about, have an email address that is picked up by my PDA at any WiFi hotspot I encounter.

I figure that at the rate language is being destroyed, in fifty years everything will be indecipherable.

Crash,
I saw that URL in a computer magazine and though of you immediately.
I had to post it. 😂
A few members of my family including myself ask for a cell phone, nothing else just a phone.
We're not interested in taking photos, texting, playing games, sending e-mail, the internet, just a phone.
I must say they're getting harder to find but I have had a nice small one for a year or so and will keep this one for quite a while.

Far out some of those 'words' (if you can call them that) are hard to understand, I text a bit myself and find those hard to understand.

The reason I text people - calling them costs $0.89 NZD a minute, (pretty expensive), while texting works out to just $0.02 NZD. Dont worry though Crash, I can still speak and write fine! 😉

Of course, I could get started on those who are addicted to cell phones. 🙄 I actually saw someone on a skateboard, talking on his cell phone. 😳

ROFL ROFL ROFL

Once i have seen a lady that she was trying to talk on her cell phone with the following way...Because of the small size of the phone when she was talking she brings it close to her mouth and when she wants to hear she moves it to her ear(probably the great cellers of the phone dont tell her that the microphones of these devices works great from distance)it was so funny and the fact that she was pushing the market buggy and a child hold this buggy instead of her mom make the scene more funnier. 😂

😂 😂 😂

Cell phones has lost the first purpose of their creation. To talk. Now they have transformed to cell circus... 😉

i must say that I do enjoy having a camera on my mobile phone.

I like taking snaps of things every now and then and it saves me carrying a camera and a phone around.

I don't want any other features like web browsing on the move or anything like that, just a phone and a camera will do me.

As for Wifi PDAs... don't get me started 😛

Text messages on mobile phones can be written with perfectly normal English language and it makes much more sense than carrying about something as big as a PDA - they are also cheaper than a phone call depending on the message you want to send (e.g. "got there safely, call you later") and are more immediate than an e-mail. Very useful feature in my opinion and both me and my girl friend Becky send each other messages in full English, not that text abbreviation nonsense.

You are correct, of course, that text messages can be sent in proper English. Now, if only all of them were. 🙄
