I made this landing with Cathay Pacific a couple of times in the '80s. Surprisingly it did n't seem that bad when sitting at the back - but looking up at tower blocks and the highish bank angles sure frightened some of the passengers!

I would think that the approach and landing was one that pilots either loved or loathed

If I am right, that was the only approach to the old Kai Tak Airport.
