sounds as if you are running out of memory
List your system specs and we will have a look at them
Also try and find out whats running in the background on your PC (Ctrl + Alt + Del will bring up the task manager, have a look under processes for anything eating away at the memory)

how do i find my system spec
this is what i know

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.00 GHz
1.99 GHz, 256 MB of RAM

38.33 GB hard drive
15.42 GB free space

Run this utility and you are going to get a full list of your system specs. ➡

OK.
My opinion is that you are low at RAM as correctly TTT point above,so i think that you have to upgrade your RAM to at least 512mb(better if you could 1Gb).Your CPU and GFX(Graphics Card) can run FS in a more then satisfied level, but dont push your system by put the display setting to full.

I dont know why it stops running suddenly but i believe that something has to be changed.Maybe another program you add,or an add-on or something that seems that spends some valuable resources.

There are some start up managers for FS.Check dear Liono utilities guide(its the first on the list) ➡

I agree with GM
You say it used to run ok.So have you added any programs that may be running in the background ?
You are very low on memory and if at all possable try and get another stick of 256mb ram as this will improve things allround on your PC
(Ram is cheap now, just make sure you buy the same sort ➡ http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html)

One thing that may or may not be relevant to the OP's problem here: if you are testing the IE7 beta, well, don't. It does seem to cause problems with FS9. I had exactly the same problem, and it went away when I uninstalled IE7 on the advice of an MS techy.

Guest
