Trans Tasman- Back in Time

I recently flew a "Trans-Tasman" flight from Auckland (NZAA), New Zealand to Brisbane (YBBN), Australia across the Tasman Sea.

Today I did it the other way around, going from Sydney (YSSY) to Auckland, flying the opposite way to the direction the globe was spinning, and arriving just 1 hour later (local time), even though the flight was two and a half hours long.

The aircraft I used was the POSKY Boeing 767-300ER in the beautiful colours of Australian Airlines, a subsidy of Qantas, who have been flying the QF767 routes to Auckland this week.

Note 56k'ers: 11 images to follow- 1001KB Confused

1. Pushback at the gate from Kingsford Smith International

2. Climbing through the clouds above Eastern Austrlia

3. A view from the rear showing the Abouriginal art on the tail

4. Crusing at FL300 above the sea

5. Orange is a great colour to paint aircraft, don't you think?

6. Crossing the Western NZ coastline

7. Descending down to 8000 feet over the countryside

8. Turning again over the Hauraki Gulf

9. On finals over photoreal Manuaku City

10. Smokey Touchdown

11. Parked at the gate. (Looking foward to the payware version of NZAA being released later this year Wink )

I am flattered by your comments greekman, pilotwannabe, pan am, tiger, simon and jolegg but I thought these where some of the crappest shots I have ever taken Exclamation

The reason I did these screenies was to show off the beautifull livery (Available here: ao_767_v4_posky.zip and then threw in some wingview shots as I happen to have an addon for the NZAA area.

Anyway, I am glad you all liked the pictures. Thanks again for your kind words Laughing

You sure you didn't clip those out of some travel magazine? My god those are gorgeous. I love the one crossing the N.Z. coastline.

No, they are far from crap. True, in my opinion, shots 2, 3, 4 and 5 aren't up to your usual standard, but you've captured scenery well in the other shots including the detailed wing views and scenery.

Just my opinion Wink
