Hi
I'm looking for a recommendation for a new monitor specifically to use for FS9.
I had been thinking about a Dell 2007WFP 20 inch widescreen - seems a good size for the price (£285), but not sure if the widescreen will not work so well on FS?
There's a slightly smaller widescreen HP W19 19 inch, £180. Same question as above re: resolution and FS.
Or would i be better going for a non-widescreen, e.g. Dell 2007FP, £308.
Any suggestions welcomed! BTW these are just examples, i'm not just looking at these makes. Budget is about £350 max.
Thanks in advance! Long-time reader of the forum, 1st post.

i have an LG LX40 21" and i can highly recommend it. very sharp, really great colour and doesn't suffer too much with direct sunlight.
I just bought their 24" last week and can recommend them very highly. The monitor is perfect, Dell support is the problem.
If no one has an answer, I will try installing FS on my wide screen notebook to see how it looks.

👍 😁 Yes and I'm very pleased with it. It may take a few try's to get the color adjusted but it's well worth it.
Enjoy!

Thanks everyone so far - RadarMan - any chance you can post a screen shot of how it looks on a widescreen? I read somewhere that some of the instruments become distorted?
Cheers
I have the dell 20'' widescreen and is very nice. I didnt want to go with the 24'' because of the very large resolution required for optimal viewing.....
Just remember that the larger the monitor is the larger the optimal detail resolution is - and thus the larger cost you would face when buying hardware to produce such a resolution...

Huh?

Read it again, this time slowly.
I think what is meant is that the larger the screen the higher the resolution that is required. Higher resolution may require a more capable graphics card.
This explanation may be read at whatever speed you enjoy most. 😉

Thanks everyone for the advice - just taken the plunge and ordered the Dell 20" widescreen, looks a bargain at £285. Now cant wait to fly on it!!! 😀
Cheers, Graeme
