I just got a new Video card, i was looking at the G force 7900 too, but got ATI Radeon X1600XT 512MB, i was going to get the 1900, but it required 450W output so it wouldn't work. Mines working just great with my Compaq presario.

Get the best card that you can get that will be compatible with your computer, unless your planning on getting a computer for FSX.

don't worry about the 512mb or 256mb versions. What you really need to look at is pixel pipelines, and the processing speed of the card.

I thought I would elaborate on his very astute post on how to look at cards not in just MB of ram.

tiger7881, as already mentioned, and as MrSam says..........

DONT do what I've known some people have done in the past, paid alot more for a 512 mb card thinking it will double the quality/speed etc over a 256 mb card. Some good links have been posted by RM 😉 .

Here's what card I use, Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition, it's 256 MB, but can it perform 😳 .

Yup, pay special attention to the number of Pixel Pipelines that a graphics card offers, because this, quite simply, tells you how many tasks a video card can handle at once. The higher the number of pipelines, the better the performance... and since we're talking about such fast clock speeds, the # of pipelines is substantial.
