Shocked Hardly something to be proud of, which your cavalier attitude suggests you are. Thats some fight...

Examples of injures that would be considered ABH include:

Loss or breaking of teeth;
Temporary loss of sensory function, including loss of consciousness;
Extensive or multiple bruising;
Displaced broken nose;
Minor fractures of bones;
Minor cuts requiring medical treatment.

If you were stupid enough to do that then in my view, you deserve what is coming to you. You would be one of the lucky ones to get off with a fine seeing as how the maximum penalty for ABH nowadays is 5 years...

you should have walked away , dont let your ego get snagged up on lifes water weeds . if this is your first offence you might get a fine and maybe some community servive . good luck

I was in court a year ago after being stopped in my missis car that had her sisters tax disk in it. It was only for a few days until I got to the post office to get a new one!

It was humiliating and embarrasing fist sitting in the Court waiting room surrounded by eveyone boasing about their crimes and then being spoken to by the magistrates like I was a cockroach. (I know its not meant to be a plesant day)

Car tax offence is pretty minor but it tought me never to end up in THAT place again. I used to be a sprinter so if I get in hot water in a pub I'm out the door. Thats not cowardly, thats clever!

You bring up two points which if I may Rolling Eyes
1st the car tax,a minor motoring offence Umm... No, Nope Not having tax and using the car on the road,renders most insurance cover out of the window(read the small print Arrow the vehicle must be maintained and road legal at all times)
Its not untill somebody runs into you,or you them that it hits the fan Horse

Trouble in pubs is just not worth it Thumbs Up!

Tomthetank, very true that no car tax can affect your insurance and that IS serious. I meant that driving with no tax generally and at the discression of the police officer leads to non-endorsable fixed penalty which is what I recieved and is no different to a parking ticket. This is because it was clear to the police I wasn't using the car for crime which is usually the case and I had/still have no previous record. So in terms of motoring offences no tax disk is quite minor assuming the driver intended on re-newing. I had every intention of getting a new one days later but I was cought out and deserved it. Drivers who don't have tax will mostly not have an MOT or insurance or a license and that makes their cars potentially dangerous and forces premiums and other running costs up.

I only get 24MPG out of my new car so I tend to walk a lot now! Confused

Chrysler Neon. A very comfortable but very heavy and thirsty American car. The fuel consumption was a bit of a shock considering my last car was a 1.1 Fiesta. Oh how I miss 10p a mile! lol

Phew,I looked at one of them a couple of months back and liked the amount of room inside,but it was a smoker,so I walked away

Recently I drove to Belgium(just under 800 miles round trip,all motorway(UK,France and some minor roads in Belgium) and averaged 38mpg for the trip
Plus loads of toys,sat nav, aircon,trip comp,reversing camera ROFL should be at the front,still dont know where the bonnet(hood Rolling Eyes ) ends Wink

Since the subject has strayed towards "What car do you have",
I will add to it by declaring (not proudly you understand) that i have a Vauxhall Astra,
a 1997 model. It is nothing much to drool over, so no picture of it,
but i will leave a picture of a car which i would want to have in my driveway.

Ladies and gentlemen the Holden Commodore. Drool

Now that's what I call a REAL car, even though I am a loyal Ford fan. As far as I'm concerned, a REAL car must displace at least 5 litres, and be in V8 formation. Australian and American muscle is the only way to go. Bow Down

290 kW (390 HP) of thumping Aussie V8 muscle. Drool

The latest commodores have a 6-speed gearbox and a 6-litre V8.

invalid road tax = no insurance, no insurance = illegal to drive on the road.

Doesn't matter how you dress it up, "intent to renew" is irrelevant - you aren't taxed and you aren't insured.. the insurance company don't care whether or not you intended to tax it, driving the car is irrelevant as well. Owning an untaxed car that is parked on public property is illegal - what happens if it has an electrical fault, sets on fire and burns several other cars?

All of those people get stung for the no claims bonus loss and you go to jail.

p.s.After hi-jacking your post to talk about cars, i hope you don't get sent down.
Shave, wear a smart suit and hope you don't get a judge like the one from my area.He sentenced someone to 18 months for stealing a bottle of booze. Wink

Jamie4590 Guest

I might have got the 24MPG a bit wrong but its still very expensive to drive. If someone in my family was hospitalised as a result of ABH I would hope the culprit got a prison sentence and to everyone who has jumped on me in this thread because my car was untaxed for a few days please put it in to perspective. Its not the crime of the century and ABH is far worse but that seemed to be forgotten. I've always been law abiding and only went to court over it because I missed a payment. Thankfully it wont affect my met application. Thumbs Up!

Well done to Jenson Button for winning his first Grand Prix. I always knew it was just a matter of time.

The Corvette above looks just like a Bullitt from GTA SA which is my favourite model.
