i overclocked my laptops GPU

Dell Inspiron 8600
ATI Radeon 9600 Turbo Pro M10 128MB
1024MB RAM
1.6Ghz Pentium M

right, now before you all start swearing at me and saying im crazy, I have very good reason to do this.
i went from core 338 MHz to 411
memory 243 MHz to 303

phonominal results. Before I did this, I got 8-10 fps with cold fronts, water effects on high mip-mapping on 5.

Now, the same scenario, I have more than tripled my FPS going from 8-10 to a constant stream of 25-40! 😀

As for heat issues, The card does run a "bit" hotter. However, this is no danger to my computer as I have temperature monitoring software, and fan control software. With this I am able to keep the temp around 70 degrees C (which as some of you may know is reasonably normal for a gaming laptop.

So, call me crazy, whatever you want, say it wasnt the overclock that caused the fps jump, but the point of the story is: I tripled my computers performance 😀

Awesome. When I first saw the post title I though that a laptop would over heat cause it's so compact... What software do you use for your fans and temperature?

i8kfangui. A programme disigned for dell notebooks

Its cool because it allows you to set what temperature you want the fans to turn on at and what speed. The problem with the default BIOS settings is that the fans turn on too late, causing the laptop to reach critical temperatures 😳
