Hi all,

I started an around the world trip in a 737 a few months back but never managed to complete it and had a little trouble navigating.
Anyway, does anybody know of a around the world flight plan for a 737? I looked on avsim but couldnt find anything.

Thanks!

Yes I am looking for a flight plan also. I tried to make my own but it just didn't work.

I have found something on avsim. Go to their site. Search under flight plans and then type in 'global' into the search bar. There are several packs you can download and they all consist of about 10 legs each.

Go east. Try not to run out of fuel over the Pacific Ocean. 😉

I'm gonna do it! Let us say... B777-200 or... 767-300?
Do you have any recommendation about the airports?

I can remember one documenatry with Jeremy Clarckson, he flew around the world within 46h or something. As I remember he started in London, flew to Frankfurt, from there to Singapore, from there to Tahiti or something, from there to L.A, from L.A. to N.Y. from N.Y. back to London. He had so much fun. The best thing was, 1 day of his life dissapeared! He was just about to cross the date line in the pacific by tuesday evening and somehow he found himself thursady morning, or the other way that he had 2 the same days in 1 week. I think it depends which way you go, east or west.

I don't know of a flight plan for an around the world flight. But I've had a good deal of experience flying around the world on the sim. Recently I completed a trip that took me to every country and territory in the world. I started that project in 2001 with FS 98 and just finished it this past July with FS 2004. As a result I might have some helpful insights for your trip. You can see a map of my journey at http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?tracker=310802

That page may take a few mintutes to load if (like me) you still have dial-up. If the map of the world doesn't come up hit refresh. You'll see that I had quite an adventure and a lot of fun with the trip.

My latest project for flying around the world is to do so holding a straight line clear around (and of course mid air refuelings). Seems easy enough to do right? Except I wanted to leave my local airport KVEL on a heading of 45* and then keep on a straight line clear around. Its not as easy as just putting the autopilot on 45*. I did figure out a way to do it that proved to be effective in keeping all my current positions clear around the globe on a bearing from KVEL of 45* (or 225* after I got past the half-way point.) It was an interesting navigational challenge. I did it in 34 hours and 59 minutes from engine start up to turning it off again at the point of origin. I used the B-2 bomber for its speed.
