Just finished reading his biography, and what a fascinating man! I had not realized his contributions to aviation - the first practical radio direction finder, the first autopilot for jets, and, oddly enough, the first 8-track tape! Not to mention the CRJ series and Learjet, of course. In all he held over 150 patents.

I don't know that 8-track tapes are anything to be proud of, but the rest of it is pretty cool. 😂
