Try checking the hole the laser passes through on the bottom of your mouse - sometimes it can get a hair in it or something which fools the mouse into thinking you moved it violently when the hair moves around.

But remember, don't look into the light! 🙂 Try blowing hard into it too in case the blockage isn't visible.

Short of that check the mouse pads on the corners of the mouse - these keep the mouse level on it's surface and mine frequently gather dust and crap from the desk making the mouse sit unevenly.
