Just one question when using ILS apr, Do you also need to set the runway heading.

Yes and No. The ILS Localizer is not effected by the setting of the VOR OBS setting or the HSI course needle setting. Using the VOR indicator, as in the Cessna 172, it is customary to set the inbound course of the ILS as a reminder. In aircraft that are equipped with a HSI, set the course needle to the inbound course of the ILS so that course corrections will make sense. The inbound course of the ILS is normally the same or very close to the runway heading but use the listed inbound course of the ILS for your instrument settings. 🙂
