Runways are numbered based on their magnetic direction rounded to the nearest 10 degrees. Runway 9 would be about 090 degrees and runway 28 would be 280 degrees. In real life, some runways have the same ILS frequency for opposite ends of the same physical runway. ATC controls which one is in use based on wind, only one is used at a time.🙂

If you go to your Flight Planner window and click on the airport icon (it looks like a letter 'X' inside a circle, and if you zoom in on an airport, the runways will show in green with tiny red numbers. It's a pain to use, but you can see the airport layout that way. The flight planner is a big disappointment on this sim. It's too tiny and cumbersome to use. I am baffled at how a company like MS could put this on the market.

You can also see an airport diagram of any US airport at www.airnav.com. Just click on airports then enter either the airport name or designator. Part of the information that is returned is the diagram, and in most cases, an aerial photo of the airport.
