I think that this thread is necassry due to the recent influx of certain guest posts.
Here is a link to a website that describes what a troll is http://members.aol.com/intwg/trolls.htm
The basic rundown of a troll is someone who makes posts just to wind someone up for the fun of it ❗ Anyways just want to make people aware of trolls so that they don't end up wasting there time with pointless arguments.

I would class a troll as someone who makes pointless threads.
Or doesn't read threads before responding on them.
You just opened a can of worms.
I would class trolls as someone who doesn't become a member and makes stupid posts about mundane things. Mhmm let me see who does that here I know a certain guest poster named .

I think the claim that posting information about trolls, is opening a can of worms, makes me very suspicious of your intent.
Why would publishing information on how to recognize and deal with trolls be wrong?????
Just one of the annoying things about the Web Trolls.
That's a very interesting article you've provided spitfiresrule. I especially like the link to the 10 min. writing guide: http://www.intwg.com/. Many people should read this article and the guides within. 🙂
Gone are the days when a troll could only be found in a childrens fantasy book.

Very very true!
One type of Troll is someone who posts something (usually untrue). When they are losing the argument then they try to claim someone else wrote it.
Not referring to anyone in Particular
