I am currently embarking on an around the World trip from my home town in Newcastle, England, UK, (EGNT) and back again in 'real time' and trying to do it in one and a half hour hops (max) where possible, (great big oceans permitting ! ) taking in as many great cities as I can.
Thus far my Itinarary has been as follows:
1. Newcastle - London (Heathrow)
2. London (Heathrow) - Paris (De Gaulle)
3. Paris (De Gaulle) - Madrid (Barajas)
4. Madrid (Barajas) - Lisbon
5. Lisbon - The Azores (Lajes)
6. The Azores (Lajes) - Bermuda (INTL)
7. Bermuda (INTL) - New York (JFK)
8. New York (JFK) - Washington (Dulles)
9. Washington (Dulles) - Toronto (City Centre)
Anyway, for those interested here are a few pics from my most recent leg of the trip:
10. Toronto (City Centre) - Chicago (O'Hare)
A tiny little runway, and I just scrape off the ground at minimum speed before the end of the runway and certain watery death!
Man I love Toronto, hope to visit again soon (for real this time!)
See that tiny runway!
A little detour over the Motor City!
Beautifull Lake Michigan......
Welcome to the 'windy city'.....where erm...theres no wind today as I set the weather to calm!
On approach to O'Hare ILS 32R....man this airport is HUGE!
Touchdown! not the greatest while fretting over a screenshot but done the job!
Finally, we've made it, The British and my Canadian friends invade America!
Many apologies for the image sizes, thought I had re-sized them but it didnt work and being a guest I cant resize them ....oh well....
I live near London, and I've done a few round the world trips ib both directions all in real time. Really makes it more worthwile imo. Great fun flying somewhere different from time to time too.
I loved landing at Syndey Kingsford Smith, I've always wanted to get there in real life!
Currently I tend to cross the pond to KJFK and back when I have a few hours free.

Yeah I find real time is much more rewarding, thats why I am trying to keep my flights short so as to not bring on boredom.
The longest flight thus far on this trip was from The Azores to Bermuda, took me about 4 hours!.......it can drag a bit!, luckily I can browse the web and listen to some music whislt the autopilot does the donkey work!
10. Chicago (O'Hare) - Kansas City (Intl)
I wonder if Paris is staying at the Hilton tonight!
It looks as though the Bears are playing...Go Bears!
30,000ft above the Mississippi.......
Nice shots and an interesting trip!
You do excellent work. I see many world or long trips and I'm impressed!
11. Kansas City (Intl) - Denver (Intl)
30,000ft somewhere above Arkansas.
On approach to Denver, what a cool place this looks!
12. Denver (Intl) - Las Vegas (McCarran)
The Rockies!
Wow, the Grand Canyon!
On approach to Vegas McCarran.....get them roulette wheels warmed up!!
Thanks for your kind words fellas as these are my first attempts at screenshots!

Ha ha, I was looking for an airport to land at and I saw this little strip on the water right next to CN Tower and I thought it would be a good challenge to land there!
13. Las Vegas (McCarran) - (Los Angeles LAX)
Ready to go, my wallet is extremely light after a weekend in Vegas!
Leaving Las Vegas
On approach to LAX ils 6L
A nice landing, wow that thing looks like a space ship hovering over LAX
Parking up, I really enjoyed that flight.
Yea, you couldv look around looking for the pearson intl airport, but for challenge, this airport is good for landing. Nice pics of vegas by the way

My original plan was to land at Pearson Intl but I just fancied something off the 'beaten track' so to speak!
lol
VERY nice Pulp1!!! Its so amazing how you can see places several times and then someone captures it in great lighting. I'm talking LA in your shots. Maybe I've not landed there in the dark.
I also like the climbing out shot at Toronto's City Centre airport. Thats where I learned to fly helicopters for the first time (sim only).
Thanks for sharing!
Great shots again, a nice varied choice of airliners!
14. Los Angeles (LAX) - San Francisco (Intl)
A pretty un-eventfull flight.
15. San Francisco (Intl) - Honolulu (Intl)
On a rainy overcast night in San Fran (real world weather), I head out into the wilds of the Pacific Ocean and say goodbye to the US of A by doing the customary flight under the Golden Gate Bridge!
After a four and a half hour (real time flight) I finally touchdown in Honolulu!
16. Honolulu (Intl) - Wake Island (AAF)
Leaving beautiful Honolulu.
Cruising over the Pacific.
Touching down at Wake Island, a tiny spec in the Ocean.
Good job Pulp1! I bet the passangers were patrified when you flew under Golden Gate.

[/img]
18. Tokyo (Haneda) - Seoul (Incheon intl)
Leaving Tokyo
Ha ha! I messed this screenshot up but I'll post it as I THINK this is Mt Fuji in the distance....
Coming into land at Seoul
19. Seoul (Incheon intl) - Shanghai (Pudong)
Bye Bye, South Korea, keep a close eye on whats going on up North..
By the time I reached the Chinese coast it was getting foggy but by the time I swung into Shanghai visibility was non-existant!! what a scary landing I could only see the runway at about 1nm.
Nice shots, now i know i drink a lot, but are'nt those Virgin Atlantic textures the wrong way round

They certainly look it dont they!!
20. Shanghai (Pudong) - Hong Kong (Intl)
On approach to Hong Kong 7L, I had a funny feeling about this landing....
JEEZ! At about 400 ft I do a double take.... and YES that is an Airbus sitting right on my runway ready to take off!!!...so I do my best to land over his head!
This is the most amazing landing Ive ever had, the Airbus nearly runs straight into the back of me on takeoff!!
Thankfully I've made it and the passengers are blissfully unaware of how close they came to death....
Lovely shots and great AI at the airport, trying to figure out the aircraft though, is it a 7e7? Looks like a 767 but not quite if you know what i mean?

Cruising over the India-Pakistan border
Decending over the Afghan mountains....I just hope I avoid any Taliban small arms fire!!

Cruising over the desolate Iraqi desert with the mighty river Tigris in the distance.....
Coming in to land in Cairo over the river Nile...can you spot any Pyramids???
27. Cairo (Intl) - Athens (Eleftherios Venizelos)
More Pyramids
The Nile delta...
My first glimpse again of European soil...the Greek Islands..(was going a tad too fast on descent)

28 Athens ( Eleftherios Venizelos) - Rome (Fiumicino)
Leaving Athens I couldnt resist a look at the Acropolis all lit up!
31,000ft saying goodby to Greece.
As i descend into Rome it becomes clear that there is a thunderstorm going on although the lightning is too quick to catch on camera!
Can you spot the Colosseum?!?!?

Well done Pulp! I spotted all the sights, yey!
Great shots pulp1, nice to see you back!
Cheers Fellas!

30. Zurich - Amsterdam (Schiphol)
A dawn start for this short trip out of the land of army knifes and watches.......
Swinging round onto the runway....
Climbing
The best time of the day and I am priviledged to be up here to enjoy it.
On approach.....
Seconds before landing runway 6
Taxiing
Saying hello to my pals! look at them lazing around......
Engines down...
Nice shots and scenery Pulp1, early morning is my favourite time to fly too!
Well, the final leg of my trip has arrived and its been a long, arduous but enjoyable journey and for the last hop of my adventure I am flying in the Airbus A320 of the Virtual Airline I fly for based out of Newcastle England.......Vigor Airways.
