What knid of PCI slot do you need for an NVidia GeForce 8800gts?

You need a PCI-E x16 (PCI Express) slot and im not sure if you need a spare PCI slot aswell

You don't need a spare slot, although it does take up two slots worth of space...... Embarassed

I looked at the specs on a gateway and it had a PCI 16 express which from what I heard would hold an NVidia 8 series card. However I talked to a sales person and they said none of there models could hold one. Is the something else special you need?

I believe that card is longer than most so "company" cases have to be built for them, Gateway uses mostly ATi, they will have a DX 10 card out soon.
