I also noticed another thing.
When my viewpoint is behind the plane and I push the toggle on my joystick to move to the side ot top or bottom, it sometimes just moves one click each time I click the toggle and sometimes it's a more fluid move, more virtual, kindof a gliding motion...
Does anyone have any ideas what that is about?
It could be that some aircraft and scenery are more graphic intensive than others and that movement is taxing the power of your system and video card.
It depends what view you're in when you use the 'toggle' (I assume you're referring to the 'Hat switch'?).
I've noticed the same thing with mine. If you push F11 on your keyboard, that puts you in the locked spot mode. This will just move the view point around one notch at a time.
Instead of F11 try one of your switches on your flightstick. Once you're in the 'outside' view, you should be able to pan around smoothly by using your hat switch or the Num Pad keys.
