Suggestions for next Version of FS

Where do you sent feed-back to Microsoft Games?

About the world map function: why not implement a circular map - it's well within the power of the computer to display a true aspect of any view of the world's surface? - (even one over Antartica)- with zoom in or out, and showing longs and latts?

About adjusting your eye-point: FS9 was far superior to FSX. When landing in FS9, one just had to use ShiftEnter to view the airstrip. Why has this gone backwards?

Any other suggestions and complaints are welcome in this thread

Here's the Microsoft Flight Simulator Teams email address:
Tell_FS@microsoft.com

Edit: The address is also in the blog that Radarman has provided a link to in his post above.

Sorry RM, I should have looked at your post. Bow Down

the FSX user interface is slow and archaic. It does not feel like a 2007 game.

Wake up Microsoft.

i have to side with microsoft on this one. when i look through my files, it's under microsoft games. they created that folder. who are we to argue with them? besides, fsx on the best box $$ can buy wont match the real simulator you'd find in real pilot training. i certainly dont mean any disrespect, but, it actually is a game. one i like more every time i use it, and makes me pine away for a better computer. (i have actually considered selling my motorcycle, how sick is that?) 😂

No, it is not a game... it is a Simulator. The ONLY reason they called it Microsoft Games is because all other "games" by microsoft has the same folder... this is for neatness....

I wont argue on this... its a Simulator, ACES reffers to it as a Simulator, MS themselves reffer to it as a simulator... There are no levels, no points, and no completion. There are no reffernces to it as a game anywhere in the documentation, nor does it say "Microsoft Flight Simulator--The Game -

.... and do not tell me that Awards are "points" - i tell you what... tell me when you get to Level 2 and I will believe you!

don't argue.

FSX is a simulator game.

all differences are settled.

it was just my opinion, and as such carries about as much weight as the average flea. nothing to get upset over. heck, if iwas wrong,
it wouldn't even be the first time 😂 the reason i said what i said was because, compared to this:
(dead image removed)

it's kind of a game.
to me, it's a game when you do it for fun, and not to actually train for the real thing. i don't think anyone on this site is gonna fly a mustang around the pylons in reno, or fly aileron rolls in the extra 300 or pilot a 747 across the atlantic anytime soon. the most some of these folks will do is get their sport licence and fly some rental g/a stuff a few times a year if they can afford that. that said, if you think i'm retarded for disagreeing with you, you are among a large group of people who think likewise for various reasons. 😛
but i mean no harm either way.

A note from a guy who works in the industry. PS- nice shot of the FMS over at Alteon. There are Full Motion Sims, like the one pictured, yes. There are also desk-top sims for "knobology" training, basic instruction, and in the military world, to teach tactics and weapon use. These are developed and placed on CDs/DVDs for customer use, as well as being WBT (Web-Based-Training) so a user can log n anywhere in the world, and get training. So, I can honestly say that FSX is more of a SIM than it is a game.

Getting this thread back on topic...

I'd like passenger window views as default on all planes that have passenger compartments. It's nice to see your cock ups from a passenger perspective

Less robotic sounding AI atc ( not easy I know)

Passengers in planes - should be less of a resource strain with DX10 (or 11 as the case may be by then )

Proper explosions when you crash - it might deter me a bit more 🙂

My suggestion is based on something I saw yesterday...when a plane comes out of a bank of cloud, the sun reflecting off of it is suddenly and dramatically apparent, as opposed to when it's behind the cloud. So far aircraft (and objects) seem to display a uniform reflectivity, as well as shading, regardless of weather conditions. If this could be addressed it would help greatly with realism.

The Shift+Enter works in the virtual cockpit.
Another problem I have found is that the virtual ciockpit panel is dark. However, if you turn on the panel light Shift+L it brightens the whole panel

Shift+L Turns on all surface lights as well as the instrument lighting. Look at the controls config and find the controls for each light individually then you can turn on and off only the ones you need... it would be pretty silly to fly at FL320 with all your landing/taxi lights on, especially when the gear is retraced.

I may be mistaken as I am a novice flight simmer but I find that

L key alone toggles all lights.
Ctrl + L toggles landing lights
Shift + L toggles panel lights
in FS9 and FSX
